The City by the Bay
Those who live in the city by the Bay, know how to work hard. Whether owning a home or renting a loft, folks in San Francisco know property doesn’t come cheap. A city of more than 870,000 residents, residents make their living working throughout Northern California, as well as within the city itself. Companies based in San Francisco include Wells Fargo, Craigslist, Pinterest, Bechtel, Del Monte, Airbnb, Blue Shield of California, Banana Republic, Gap, North Face, Piggybackr, Pacific Gas & Electric, and more.
Most of us were raised to believe in the value of hard work and be grateful to those who create jobs. Unfortunately, there are times when the job creators flaunt state laws designed to protect workers. When this happens, it’s recommended a worker contact a good employment lawyer, such as Mr. Bohm.

What Can an Employee Recover in a Labor Lawsuit?
While it’s impossible to discuss specific dollar amounts when it comes to employment settlements and awards, it is possible to talk generally about the different types of compensation available. These often include recovered back pay, lost wages, compensation for pain and suffering, and in rare cases, punitive damages. Visit this page to learn a little about the verdicts we’ve secured for clients.
Should You Contact an Employment Lawyer?
If you’re a San Francisco resident who’s been treated unfairly by an employer, it could well be worth your time and effort to contact an employment attorney. While it is possible to file a complaint with the state labor board without the assistance of an attorney, it’s important to remember a few things:
- Companies appreciate the value of legal representation and are sure to use the services of an attorney themselves (potentially multiple attorneys).
- Employers are more likely to take a case seriously if the plaintiff has legal representation.
- If your legal representative has a track record of high-sum judgments (as the Bohm Group does), the opposing counsel will take notice.
In addition to these reasons, it’s worth mentioning that employment attorneys often take cases on a contingency basis. This means the client doesn’t pay out-of-pocket expenses. Rather, the client will pay out of a portion of the settlement or judgment at the conclusion of the case. This portion is usually a percentage agreed upon by the attorney and client before an agreement is signed.
At the end of the day, there is little to lose by contacting an attorney to find out if you have a case. If you have an employment law question, contact the Bohm Group for the answer.
